go ahead, lose your mind!

i have released a rough mix of one of the songs on my new record: "if you haven't lost your mind." you can download it for free here off the washington post's mp3 site.

it is completely true that every instrument on this song is me, including my first bass line ever. what isn't me are those two beautiful voices in the background. they belong to jessi canning and leah morgan, two up and coming artists in the DC area who were nice enough to lend their time and sweet vocals to my record. both jessi and leah are on a bunch of other songs, so if you like how this all fits together, you are going to like this record. i need also give a nod to jack albert, of the band accidental charm who has been patiently recording and engineering this project since march. jack has done a fine job, especially since he really had no idea what he was getting into with me.

anyway, i like this tune. it may end up being completely different sounding after we mix it, which is why i don't mind posting it, but for now, this is what it is. somewhere in there is an F chord that old bandmate joe quick suggested when we were jamming on this at his house. works for me.
